SAVE THE DATE: BACKYARD SALE

Since it’s opening last year, Vienna’s Pratersauna has established itself as one of the hottest spots in the club scene. Additionally, there’s a plenty of day-activities awaiting the inclined partygoer  such as BBQs next to the outdoor pool or the annual Backyard Sale, which is going into the 2nd round next weekend. Aside from private sellers, there will be a range of local shops and designers selling, with Wood Wood, Wendy&Jim, Polyklamott, Common People and American Apparel being just a few of them. Unless this won’t get you going, there will also be an artshow by the Levin Gatzer Foundation, DJs all day and a BBQ!

Drop by on the 19th or 20th June 2010 between 13:00 and 24:00 o’clock and get yourself some bargains! See you there!

QUICK TIPP: ZOE LEONARD AT MUMOK

This maybe short notice, but if you happen to be in Vienna, I highly recommend checking out photographer Zoe Leonard’s exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art. Entitled ‘Photographs’, this exhibition is the first to outline her work internationally and was installed by the artist herself in perspective of the premises at MUMOK. Leonard has a great eye for the small things, you will be amazed at how much there is to discover in every picture. It is on until the 7th of March, click here for further information.

VIENNA, WATCH OUT: Fashion Blogger Day

While Vienna might not be reknown for its fashion scene, the creative minds in this city definitely have alot up their sleeves. So mark the 6th of June 2009 in your calendars:  Within the framework of Unit F’s 9festival for fashion & photography, stylishkidsinriot and Maria of stylekingdom are staging Vienna’s first Fashion Blogger Day! First part of the day is  the panel discussion “Fash Clash: Discussing the Digital Contraversy” which has a really impressive line-up to offer: the infamous Diane Pernet & Susie Bubble, Johannes Thumfart of hint mag , Julia Knolle of lesmads and Imran Amed will be speaking. Closing the day, the fashion scene will be dancing away at the “I die. BanANNAs – celebrating fashion 2.0″ party at the newly opened Pratersauna.

Entrance for the discussion is free, but seats are limited. More information here, rsvp recommended.

ppl of vienna: get yourself a shirt!

This is just a quick heads up to everybody from Vienna. The bar/café/showroom Mon Ami is having a charity event on January 31st which you shouldn’t miss! The concept is simple, you take a shirt, handover 10 Euros, have it resewn or costumized as you like by one of the designers, take home  your one-of-a-kind shirt & be very happy!

The proceeds will be donated to the Integrationshaus, a local project for the accommodation&integration of refugees and asylum-seekers.

So mark the day in your calendars & make sure to pass by Theobaldgasse 9 with a basic shirt on the last day of January! I will be there for sure!
